The Scraper Conveyor is a type of continuous transport equipment featuring aflexible traction component.
It utilizes a rectangular or 'U' shaped material trough, where the movement of the scraper chain generates thrust. This causes the material and the chain to become a unified whole, enabling continuous transportation. Given that the scraper chains are embedded within the material, it is also known as an 'embedded scraper conveyor.' This equipment is vital for grain processing plants and grain storage facilities.
Main Structure
The Scraper Conveyor consists of a trough,scraper chains,head and tail wheels,inlet and outlet points,drive device, and a tensioning device.
Working Principle
1) Horizontal Transport
During horizontal transport, the thrust of the scraper chain results in a greater internal frictional force than the frictional force between the material and the trough wall. Consequently, the material moves forward as a cohesive unit under the thrust of the scraper.
2)Vertical Transport
In vertical transportation, the material is moved upward by the combined thrust of the scraper and the material's own weight. The internal friction is sufficient to overcome gravitational and trough friction forces, ensuring stable vertical transport.
